Penang
The Malaysian island where bare dies get their package and pass their tests.
Many of the world's chips get their package on an island in Malaysia. Penang has hosted packaging and test plants for half a century, the work that comes after the fab. Bare dies arrive from Taiwan or elsewhere and leave protected and verified. It is a less famous step than lithography, yet no chip skips it. Taiwan and China do the same work at scale.
